Tangail, Dec 12 (V7N) — The 145th birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was observed at Maulana Bhashani University of Science and Technology (MBSTU) in Tangail on Friday (December 12) with a series of programs honoring the national leader.

In the morning, the university community paid tribute by laying wreaths at Maulana Bhashani’s shrine, followed by prayers and supplications. Among those present were Professor Dr. Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr. Md. Abu Zubair, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences; Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Imam Hossain; Registrar (in-charge) Professor Dr. Sajjad Wahid; Professor A. K. M. Mohiuddin, Chairman of the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering; as well as teachers, students, officers, and staff from various departments.

Separately, wreaths were laid by Maulana Bhashani’s family, Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP Bhashani), Bhashani Parishad, and other organizations on the university campus.

After Friday prayers, a special prayer meeting was held at the Central Jama Masjid, organized by the university, to commemorate the life and legacy of Maulana Bhashani.
