Brahmanbaria, Nov 29 (V7N) – Locals and relatives of former Chhatra Dal leader Saddam Hossain have surrounded the Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station, demanding that a case be filed and the immediate arrest of the main accused, Delwar Hossain Dilip.
On Friday evening, residents of Kandipara and Saddam’s family members gathered at the police station, carrying the deceased’s body. They staged a sit-in, chanting slogans, and declared that they would not leave until a formal case was registered.
The protesters claimed that Saddam Hossain was deliberately lured from his home and shot dead. Despite the passage of time since the incident, no case has been filed and no arrests have been made. They warned of stricter protests if the authorities failed to take immediate action.
Saddam Hossain, a former member of Sadar Upazila Chhatra Dal, was shot dead at his home in Kandipara late Thursday night. The family alleged that Delwar Hossain Dilip, a leader of Swechasebak Dal, along with his associates, orchestrated the killing to frame opponents.
Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azharul Islam stated that no written complaint has yet been submitted by the family. He assured that legal action would be taken once a formal complaint is received and confirmed that the matter is under investigation.
