Chatmohar, Pabna, May 11 (V7N) – A daily wage laborer named Israel Hossain (38) died on Sunday (May 11th) morning in Bahadurpur Paschimpara village of Mathurapur Union, Chatmohar, Pabna, after falling from a mango tree while picking mangoes. A branch he was on reportedly broke, leading to the fatal fall.
Siddiqur Rahman, a local UP member of Ward No. 2 of Mathurapur Union Parishad, confirmed the incident.
Israel Hossain was the son of the late Maqbul Pramanik of Kukragari village in Chaikola Union. He had been residing in Bahadurpur village with his family for approximately 20 years since marrying the eldest daughter of the late Abdul Kader. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.
According to relatives and locals, Israel climbed the mango tree near his house on Sunday morning. While high up in the tree's canopy on a thin branch, it broke, causing him to fall to the ground. He sustained severe injuries, including broken arms and legs. Family members rushed him to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors referred him to Pabna General Hospital, where he tragically died around 10 am while receiving treatment.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the local community. A local rural doctor, Majnur Rahman, described Israel as a kind and quiet man who was the sole provider for his impoverished family. He expressed concern for the well-being of Israel's wife and three children and appealed to more affluent members of society to offer their support.
