COX’S BAZAR, Sept 07 (V7N) — Police have arrested 14 people in a special operation conducted in different areas of Cox’s Bazar city and Sadar upazila over the past 24 hours.
Police said the arrested individuals were allegedly involved in snatching and that several cases had been filed against them at different police stations in Cox’s Bazar.
According to information provided by police, the special operation was conducted across Cox’s Bazar Municipality and union areas to arrest suspected robbers and snatchers.
The 14 arrested individuals were identified as Md Imran, 26, Md Khorshed Alam, 28, Md Abu Taher, 36, Sohel Islam, 32, Md Naim, 19, Redwan, 20, Md Rafiq, 22, Md Amir, 32, Md Saddam, 31, Mehedi Hasan Sagar, 19, Rezaul Karim Oni, 19, Md Ishan, 23, Md Zahir, 29, and Rabiul Hasan, 19.
Police sources said most of those arrested are residents of different areas of Cox’s Bazar Municipality and Sadar upazila. Mehedi Hasan Sagar and Rezaul Karim Oni are residents of Noakhali.
Police said the arrested individuals have multiple cases filed against them at Cox’s Bazar Sadar and other police stations.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohammad Ali said special operations would continue to curb snatching, robbery and other criminal activities in the city and surrounding areas.
“Legal action is being taken against those arrested,” he said.
