Dhaka, Sep 07 (V7N)- The accused in the crimes-against-humanity case over the killing of former Teknaf municipal councilor Ekramul Haque have sought to transfer the case from the International Crimes Tribunal to a regular trial court.

Former Cox’s Bazar-4 MP Abdur Rahman Badi and three army officers were produced before the tribunal on Monday (September 7) in connection with the case.

The three army officers are Brigadier General Md. Mahbub Alam, Brigadier General Miftah Uddin Ahmed and Colonel (retd) Anwar Latif Khan.

Earlier, on August 25, International Crimes Tribunal-2 ordered the arrest of Badi and the three army officers and sent them to jail.

In the same case, the tribunal also ordered the publication of newspaper advertisements asking seven absconding accused, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to surrender.
