Dhaka, Jan 28 (V7N) — A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking a directive to postpone the preliminary examination of the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) in view of the upcoming referendum and national elections.

The petition was filed on Wednesday on behalf of BCS candidates by a lawyer, requesting the court’s intervention regarding the scheduled examination.

According to the Public Service Commission (PSC) notification, the 50th BCS preliminary examination is set to be held on January 30, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, simultaneously across eight divisional centers — Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh.

The PSC has stated that details regarding examination halls, seating arrangements, and other important instructions will be published in due course on its official website (www.bpsc.gov.bd) and on Teletalk Bangladesh Limited’s website (http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd).

Earlier, the PSC issued the 50th BCS notification on November 26 last year. The online application process began on December 4 and concluded on December 31.

The High Court is expected to hear the writ petition in the coming days.
