Dhaka, Jun 27 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers in six regions of the country and advised inland river ports in the affected areas to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.

The warning was issued in the weather forecast for inland river ports, covering the period from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the forecast, the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet are likely to experience temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour.

The Meteorological Department also predicted rain or thundershowers in these areas during the forecast period.

In view of the expected adverse weather conditions, inland river ports in the affected regions have been advised to display warning signal No. 1 and remain alert to ensure the safety of river transport and navigation.

The weather office urged people, particularly those involved in river transport and outdoor activities, to remain cautious as the unstable weather conditions may temporarily disrupt normal operations.
