DHAKA, Mar 12, (V7N) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today reaffirmed its commitment to Bangladesh, with Resident Representative Maxym Kryshko pledging full cooperation during a courtesy call on Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman.

The meeting, held at the central bank headquarters, was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman and took place in a professional and collaborative atmosphere, according to a press release.

During the session, Kryshko congratulated the Governor and formally expressed the IMF’s promise to maintain a supportive and productive relationship with Bangladesh Bank. He also conveyed the IMF’s positive outlook on the country’s governance and said the organisation looks forward to working closely with the newly formed political government.

This statement of intent follows the establishment of the administration through recently held free and fair national elections, signaling a robust start to IMF’s engagement with the current leadership.

Officials noted that the meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the IMF and Bangladesh Bank as they pursue shared economic objectives.
