Dhaka, Oct 07 (V7N)- The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 13 development projects with a combined estimated cost of Tk 16,207.55 crore.
The projects were approved at an ECNEC meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in the Cabinet Room of the Secretariat on Wednesday.
Of the total project cost, Tk 10,600.80 crore will come from government funds, while Tk 4,081.85 crore will be financed through project loans. The remaining Tk 1,524.91 crore will come from the implementing organisations' own funds.
The approved package includes 10 new projects, two revised projects and one project for which the implementation period has been extended.
The projects cover different areas of national development and are aimed at supporting ongoing government development programmes.
Officials concerned are expected to begin the necessary procedures for implementing the approved projects in accordance with government guidelines.
The meeting was the fifth ECNEC meeting of the 2026-27 fiscal year and the 10th meeting of the ECNEC since the current government took office.
