New Delhi, Oct 07 (V7N)- Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi held meetings with Indian Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.
According to the Indian Army's Public Relations Department, Trivedi met General Dheeraj Seth on Tuesday, with discussions focusing on strengthening India-Bangladesh bilateral cooperation and defense relations.
The meeting came amid continued diplomatic engagement between India and Bangladesh on issues of mutual interest.
Trivedi also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day, according to diplomatic sources.
The sources said the meeting covered various issues concerning relations between the two neighboring countries, as well as the current political situation in Dhaka.
They also said the possible visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to India was among the issues discussed during the meeting.
Trivedi left Dhaka for New Delhi on Monday night, according to diplomatic sources.
He is expected to return to Dhaka on Thursday.
The meetings come as India and Bangladesh continue discussions on bilateral relations, including cooperation in defense and other areas of mutual interest.
