Dinajpur, Sep 07 (V7N)- The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly attempted to push 12 to 15 people into Bangladesh through the Birampur border in Dinajpur. However, they were forced to take the group back into India following resistance from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and local residents.
The incident took place around Sunday (September 6) night at the Daudpur border area of Katla Union in Birampur upazila.
According to the BGB, BSF members attempted to force several people into Bangladesh by pushing them through the barbed-wire fence at night. Local residents noticed the incident and moved towards the border, chasing them away.
Later, facing resistance from the BGB and locals, the BSF members took the people back inside Indian territory.
Following the incident, the BGB has intensified patrols along the border to prevent further push-ins. Local residents have also increased their vigilance to prevent unauthorized entry into Bangladesh.
