Patuakhali, Aug 21 (V7N)- Hafez Noor Uddin Zakaria, a resident of Dhulia Chandkathi in Baufal, Patuakhali, has secured first place in the 46th King Abdul Aziz International Quran Hifz, Tilaawat and Tafsir Competition in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The results of the prestigious international competition were announced in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday (August 19).

According to the results, Hafez Noor Uddin Zakaria won first place in the fourth category, competing against hundreds of participants from 133 countries.

Zakaria is the son of Maulana Nurul Amin and Yanur Begum of Chandkathi village. He is one of three siblings, with one brother and two sisters.

At the age of six, Zakaria went to Dhaka with his uncle, Hafez Qari Mohammad Rahmat Ullah. He enrolled in the Hifz department of a madrasa in the capital and completed memorization of the Holy Quran.

Later, he was admitted to Demra R. Raihan International Madrasa. While studying there, he participated in the international Quran competition in Saudi Arabia and achieved the remarkable success.

Following his victory, Hafez Noor Uddin Zakaria received congratulations from Patuakhali-2 (Baufal) MP Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, local BNP leaders and the upazila administration.

His achievement has brought joy and pride to his family, relatives and people in the locality.

Locals said Zakaria’s success on the international stage is not only a matter of pride for Baufal but also an inspiration for young people across Bangladesh.
