Cox's Bazar, Aug 09 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached Matarbari in Cox's Bazar as part of his day-long visit to Cox's Bazar and Chittagong.
The Prime Minister arrived in Matarbari by an Air Force helicopter at around 10:45am on Sunday (August 9). Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and local political leaders welcomed him upon his arrival.
During the visit, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to attend several programs in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar and Chittagong.
According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will participate in a program at the Paschim Banshkhali High School and College grounds in Baharchhara Union, where rehabilitation assistance will be provided to people affected by the recent floods.
Later, he is scheduled to travel to Fatikchhari Upazila and visit Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Uloom Babunagar Madrasa. He will subsequently visit the grave of the late Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend another rehabilitation program for recent flood victims at the Hathazari Government College grounds.
In the evening, Tarique Rahman will attend an organizational meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Chittagong.
The visit is the Prime Minister's first trip to Chittagong since assuming office in February and includes both government programs and political engagements.
