Chattogram, Aug 09 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to visit Chattogram and Cox's Bazar on Sunday, marking his first visit to Chattogram since assuming office in February.

The prime minister is scheduled to leave Dhaka by helicopter for Matarbari in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar on Sunday morning. Extensive preparations have been made by the ruling party in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar ahead of the visit.

According to the schedule, Tarique Rahman will visit the Matarbari Deep Sea Port, the coal-fired power project and activities of the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA) at around 10:30am.

He will then attend a programme at the grounds of Paschim Banshkhali High School and College in Baharchhara Union, organized for the rehabilitation of people affected by recent floods.

The prime minister is scheduled to travel to Fatikchhari in Chattogram at around 1:30pm, where he will visit Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagar Madrasa.

During the visit, he is expected to pay a courtesy call on Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari and later visit the grave of the late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.

Tarique Rahman will take a break at the Hathazari Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow at around 3:45pm.

At 5pm, he is scheduled to attend another flood rehabilitation programme at the grounds of Hathazari Government College.

In the evening, the prime minister will attend an organizational meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Chattogram.

Following the day's programmes, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return to Dhaka by air at night.
