Dhaka, Aug 5 (V7N) - Japan has reaffirmed its commitment to stand firmly alongside Bangladesh on its path toward lasting stability and prosperity, while congratulating the country on its peaceful political transition under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

In a message issued by its Embassy in Dhaka today, marking the second anniversary of the July Uprising, Japan said, "Under the Japan-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to stand firmly with Bangladesh on its path toward lasting stability and prosperity."

The embassy also renewed its sincere condolences to those who lost their lives during the July 2024 Uprising. "We take this opportunity to warmly congratulate the people of Bangladesh on the successful political transition in a peaceful manner, leading to the elected government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman," the message read.

Japan reiterated that it would continue to work closely with Bangladesh under the Strategic Partnership to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support the country's continued progress.
