Sylhet, Jun 28 (V7N) – Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has warned that the government will take strict legal action against those who spread false information about question paper leaks on social media ahead of the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.

He made the remarks while addressing a view-exchange meeting with officers-in-charge of the Sylhet region at the Jalalabad Gas Auditorium on Sunday morning.

The minister said the government is determined to ensure a fair and transparent examination environment and will not tolerate the spread of misinformation that could create panic among students, parents and educational institutions.

Referring to the education sector, Dr. Milon claimed that previous administrations faced various challenges due to legal disputes and administrative complications, which affected the smooth functioning of the sector.

He also alleged that the former Awami League government had misappropriated Tk 7,000 crore from the Retired Teachers' Welfare Trust.

The Education Minister further claimed that the interim government appointed teachers in madrasas without taking budgetary allocations into consideration, creating additional financial pressure on the education sector.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure the successful and peaceful conduct of the HSC and equivalent examinations across the country.
