Dalian, Jun 23 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Dalian, China following a two-day official visit to Malaysia.

At 11:05 pm local time on Monday (June 22), a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and his wife Zubaida Rahman landed at Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport in China.

The Prime Minister was received at the airport by the Vice Governor of Liaoning Province and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to China. From the airport, he was escorted under tight security to Hotel Shangri-La in Dalian, where he will stay during his two-day visit.

During the visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to participate in high-level bilateral meetings focusing on Bangladesh–China relations, including trade, investment, infrastructure development, and broader strategic cooperation. He is also expected to attend the 17th “New Champions” Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.

After concluding his engagements in Dalian, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing, where the main bilateral discussions with Chinese leadership are expected to take place.

Officials have described the visit as highly significant and historic, as Bangladesh and China move into the “golden 50 years” of diplomatic relations, aiming to deepen long-term cooperation.

Earlier, during the final phase of his visit to Malaysia, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a private meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur. Multiple agreements and a memorandum of understanding were signed between the two countries to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on June 26 after completing his official engagements.
