DHAKA, May 28, (V7N) – On the holy day of Eid-ul-Azha, Prime Minister’s Adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi visited the Pallabi residence of slain child Ramisa Akter, who was brutally murdered after being raped on May 19.
Rizvi conveyed the Prime Minister’s condolences to the grieving family and assured them that the highest punishment would be ensured in the killing incident. He said: “I have come on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to inquire about Ramisa’s family. The Prime Minister has also taken responsibility for the education of Ramisa’s elder sister, Raisa. We will all stand beside Raisa’s family as their relatives.”
An emotional atmosphere unfolded as Ramisa’s father broke down in tears during the visit.
BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, member Mahbubul Islam, Central Chhatra Dal Vice-President Dr. Touhidur Rahman Awal, and North South University Director Dr. Iqbalur Rahman Rokon were also present.
This visit underscores the government’s pledge to stand by victims’ families and ensure justice, while also providing long-term support such as educational assistance for surviving children. It highlights the broader commitment to child protection and justice for victims in Bangladesh.
