Dhaka, May 13 (V7N) – Bangladesh Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said the government aims to generate at least 2,000 megawatts of solar power by 2030, with plans to bring all educational institutions under renewable energy coverage.

He made the remarks on Wednesday morning during the signing ceremony of an agreement between Dhaka Residential Model College and Omera Renewable Energy Limited for a 600-kilowatt peak “On-Grid OPEX Model Solar System” project.

The education minister said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to expanding renewable energy usage while modernizing the country’s educational infrastructure.

He also stated that the government is giving the highest priority to the education sector in order to create productive and skilled human resources for the country.

“One of the Prime Minister’s key goals is to establish a world-class education system,” Milon said.

The solar energy initiative is expected to support sustainable power generation and reduce dependency on conventional energy sources in educational institutions across Bangladesh.
