Dhaka, May 08 (V7N) — The Ministry of Railways has announced special arrangements to manage the heavy passenger flow ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, including additional trains, online ticketing, and enhanced security measures.
According to officials, the government will operate five pairs of special passenger trains and three cattle-special trains to facilitate travel and transport of sacrificial animals during the Eid season.
The decision was taken at a preparatory meeting held at Railway Bhaban, chaired by Railway Ministry Secretary Md. Fahimul Islam, reported BSS.
Ticket sales schedule
Advance train ticket sales for Eid journeys will begin on May 13, while return tickets will be available from May 21. Authorities confirmed that 100% of tickets will be sold online to prevent overcrowding and black market activity.

Tickets for May 24–27 will be released in phases

Return journey tickets (May 31–June 4) will be sold from May 21–25

Tickets for May 28–30 will depend on Eid moon sighting
Special train routes
The special services will operate on several key routes, including:

Chattogram–Chandpur

Dhaka–Dewanganj

Joydebpur–Parbatipur
In addition, three cattle trains will run from Dewanganj and Islampur to Dhaka to ensure smooth livestock transport for Eid sacrifice.
Security and management measures
Railway authorities said strict steps have been taken to ensure safe and orderly travel, including:

Increased deployment of police, RAB, and railway security forces at major stations, especially Dhaka and Airport stations

Restrictions on rooftop travel

No weekly train closures from May 23 until the day before Eid

Additional coaches attached to intercity trains to handle passenger pressure
Officials said the measures aim to ensure a safer and more comfortable Eid journey for millions of passengers across the country.
