Dhaka, Apr 21 (V7N) — Fuel supply has increased at several filling stations in Dhaka since Tuesday morning, offering relief to consumers after a prolonged shortage.

Increased supply at pumps

At a filling station in the Khilkhet area, around 36,000 liters of octane and 27,000 liters of diesel were supplied on Tuesday morning.

Pump authorities said the government’s decision to boost fuel supply is now being implemented effectively. They expect that the pressure seen over the past month will gradually ease.

They also mentioned that more vehicles are now being served due to the increased availability of fuel.

Consumers see improvement

Consumers expressed relief after finally receiving fuel following long waiting times since Monday night.

They said:

  • Waiting times have decreased

  • Long queues have shortened

  • Overall suffering has reduced compared to previous days

However, they emphasized that the situation will fully normalize only if the increased supply continues.

Current distribution system

Fuel stations are currently supplying fuel under a controlled system:

  • Tk 1,200 worth for fuel pass holders

  • Tk 800 for non-pass holders

  • Up to Tk 5,000 for private cars

If this trend continues, both consumers and operators believe the fuel crisis may soon be resolved.
