DHAKA, March 24, (V7N) — Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain today said no unauthorized or substandard clinics will be allowed to operate in the country as part of efforts to improve healthcare services.
Speaking to journalists after exchanging Eid greetings with ministry officials and employees at the Secretariat, the minister said: “A zero‑tolerance policy will be followed against clinic owners involved in irregularities. If any clinic fails to maintain minimum healthcare standards, it will be shut down immediately without delay.”
He noted that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given strict directives to ensure quality healthcare nationwide. Monitoring drives have already begun in Dhaka and will be expanded across the country in phases.
Expressing satisfaction over the overall Eid situation, Sakhawat Hossain said this year’s Eid‑ul‑Fitr was celebrated in a more peaceful and comfortable environment compared to the past one and a half decades. Prices of essential commodities remained stable, law and order was fully under control, and people enjoyed the festival without hassle.
“Overall, this year’s Eid was celebrated in a very pleasant atmosphere,” he added.
