Dhaka, Mar 16 (V7N) – The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in five districts—Gazipur, Panchagarh, Kushtia, Netrokona and Chapainawabganj.

The information was confirmed in a notification issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Public Administration, signed by Deputy Secretary Aminul Islam.

According to the notification, Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, Deputy Secretary of the Local Government Department, has been appointed as the DC of Gazipur. Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been appointed as the DC of Netrokona.

Meanwhile, Md. Touhid Bin-Hasan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, has been given the responsibility of DC in Kushtia, and Mosa. Shukria Parveen, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed as the DC of Panchagarh.

In addition, Abu Saleh Md. Musa Jangi, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Chapainawabganj.

Earlier on March 1, the government withdrew the deputy commissioners of these five districts. The withdrawn officials, who were of deputy secretary rank, were attached to the Ministry of Public Administration for further posting.
