Dhaka, Mar 13 (V7N) — The government has assigned portfolios to two ministers and a state minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The Cabinet Division of Bangladesh issued the relevant gazette on Thursday (March 12).
According to the gazette, Ahmed Azam Khan, Member of Parliament from the Tangail-8 constituency, has been given charge of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
Meanwhile, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, who previously served as State Minister for the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, has now been entrusted with the responsibilities of both the Ministry of Land and the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.
Earlier on Thursday, Ahmed Azam Khan was sworn in as a minister. Mohammed Shahabuddin, the President of Bangladesh, administered the oath of office at around 1:15 pm at the Bangabhaban.
