Dhaka, Mar 08 (V7N) – On the occasion of International Women's Day 2026, Sarah Cook reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to stand by Bangladesh in promoting women's leadership and empowerment.

In a statement published on the British High Commission’s official social media handle on Sunday (March 8), Sarah Cook said the UK is working closely with Bangladesh to advance women’s leadership, expand economic opportunities, and ensure safety and security for women.

She emphasized that the UK is supporting women and girls to participate confidently in social activities and influence decisions that shape their future. A photo accompanying the statement showed Sarah Cook smiling in a pink jacket, symbolizing solidarity with women’s empowerment initiatives.

The British High Commission highlighted that the UK will continue collaborating with the Bangladesh government and development partners to promote equal rights and strengthen women’s participation across all sectors.
