DHAKA, March 6 (V7N) – Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr A K M Shamsul Islam paid a surprise visit to the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.  

Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin accompanied him during the visit, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).  

The adviser instructed officials to strictly follow existing rules and office hours to make activities more dynamic and effective. He also directed that accountability and transparency be ensured in recruitment, costs reduced in conducting examinations, and a digital access control system introduced for attendance management.  

Despite the unannounced inspection, the release said the CAO office environment was found clean, orderly and satisfactory.
