DHAKA, Mar 2, 2026 (V7N) – S. Paul Kapur, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, is set to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening strategic ties between the United States and Bangladesh.
According to a statement issued by US Embassy Spokesperson Poornima Rai in Dhaka, Assistant Secretary Kapur will meet senior officials of the new government as well as business leaders during his stay.
The discussions are expected to focus on expanding bilateral trade and investment, enhancing security cooperation, and advancing shared interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
Kapur was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs on October 22, 2025. He is currently on leave from the United States Naval Postgraduate School, where he previously served as a professor in the Department of National Security Affairs.
