Dhaka, Feb 26 (V7N)- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for filing individual tax returns for the 2025-26 fiscal year by one month, now set for March 31, 2026. This marks the fourth extension of the deadline.
Earlier, the deadline had already been extended three times, most recently set to end on February 28, 2026. The extension was announced on Thursday (February 26) through an official NBR order.
According to the Income Tax Act, individual taxpayers are normally required to submit their returns by November 30 each year. The NBR stated that the extension was necessary because the expected volume of returns had not been filed within the previous deadlines.
The law also stipulates that taxpayers who fail to submit their returns on time are subject to fines and may lose access to certain tax concessions approved by the government.
