DHAKA, Feb 22, (V7N) - Liberation War Affairs Minister Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram today said the great Liberation War is the fundamental basis of Bangladesh’s freedom.

“It would not be appropriate to equate any other movement or struggle with the Liberation War. We must always remember that the sole foundation of the birth of this state is the great Liberation War,” he told a view-exchange meeting with members of the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council (JAMUKA) at the ministry conference room.

Expressing concern over political misuse of the Liberation War’s spirit, the minister said the younger generation has been deprived of knowing the true history. He urged all to uphold the unique dignity of the war and ensure that future generations understand the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters.

The meeting adopted several important decisions regarding verification of the list of genuine freedom fighters and preservation of authentic history.

Liberation War Affairs Secretary Israt Chowdhury, members of JAMUKA, and senior officials of the ministry were present.
