Dhaka, Feb 22 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the Amar Ekushey Book Fair and present the Ekushey Padak this year. The award ceremony will take place on the morning of February 26, followed by the book fair inauguration in the afternoon, according to Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Minister of Cultural Affairs, on Saturday (February 21).
The Culture Minister stated that the formal opening of the book fair will be held on February 26 at Bangla Academy premises, where the Prime Minister will attend as the chief guest and officially inaugurate the fair. Earlier in the morning, he will present the Ekushey Padak to distinguished individuals in recognition of their significant contributions in various fields.
Authorities have confirmed that all necessary preparations for both events have been completed.
This year, the government has fully waived stall rental fees for participating publishing houses, a decision welcomed positively by publishers.
