Rangpur, Jan 23 (V7N) — Local Government Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan on Friday said that only defeated forces, allies of fascism and opponents of the people of Bangladesh would think about voting ‘no’ in this year’s referendum.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after paying tribute by placing wreaths at the ‘36 July Memorial’ in Rangpur metropolis on Friday morning.

The advisor said that the interim government, formed through a mass uprising, has taken initiatives to implement the July Charter, and therefore it is crucial for the ‘yes’ vote to prevail in the upcoming referendum.

“The people of Bangladesh, the caravan of the people and the tide of the people will stand in favor of the ‘yes’ vote,” he said, expressing confidence in public support for the charter.

It may be mentioned that Adilur Rahman Khan arrived in Rangpur on Thursday night on a two-day visit. During the visit, he is scheduled to inspect various local government institutions and later address a views-exchange meeting with district and divisional administration officials at Half Hotel this afternoon.
