Rajshahi, Jan 18 (V7N) — Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Sunday said that the upcoming 13th National Parliament election will be the most impartial election in the history of Bangladesh.
He made the remarks while addressing the basic training graduation parade of the 41st BCS Police Cadre trainee Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) at the Police Academy in Saradha, Rajshahi, on Sunday morning.
The Home Affairs Advisor emphasized that the police will play a crucial role in ensuring an acceptable and credible election. He noted that, for the first time, police members have received specialized training on election security.
He further said that around 150,000 police personnel will be deployed across the country during the election period to maintain law and order and ensure a peaceful voting environment.
Issuing a stern warning, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury instructed police members not to accept any form of benefit or favor from candidates or their agents, stressing that professionalism, neutrality, and integrity must be upheld at all times.
The advisor reiterated that the government is committed to conducting a free, fair, and transparent election, with law enforcement agencies playing a key role in safeguarding the democratic process.
