Bhola, Dec 27 (V7N)- Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain stated that the current government is neutral and not in favor of any political party, emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections. He made the remarks on Saturday afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the voting vehicle ‘Caravan’ at Bhola Balak Government School grounds.

Touhid Hossain said, “Our goal is for every citizen to observe and evaluate the elected public representatives. This election is very important, and we want people to vote according to their free will. I want to make it clear that the government is not favoring any party.”

He highlighted that the nomination process for candidates would conclude the day after tomorrow, after which the public will know who is contesting the February 12, 2026, elections.

Referring to the political changes of July-August 2024, Touhid Hossain mentioned the sacrifices of those who lost their lives during that period and stated that a preliminary list of key issues had been prepared. He explained that the public will have the opportunity to express their opinion through a referendum, voting ‘yes’ if they agree with 80-90 percent of the issues, or ‘no’ if they do not.

He stressed that the next parliament and elected representatives cannot ignore the public’s opinion, adding, “The responsibility of implementing these changes will fall on the next government.”

Regarding the Vote Caravan, Touhid Hossain said its main purpose is to encourage voter turnout, urging everyone to visit polling stations and cast their votes peacefully and in a festive atmosphere.
