Dhaka, Dec 13 (V7N)- Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday met with the family members of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Manch and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, and assured them of all possible measures to ensure his best medical treatment.
Osman Hadi’s brother Abu Bakr Siddique, sister Masuma, and Inquilab Manch leaders Abdullah Al Jaber, Fatima Tasnim Juma, and Md. Borhan Uddin met the Chief Advisor at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday morning.
During the meeting, Professor Yunus said the entire country is praying for Osman Hadi and that the government is fully committed to his recovery.
“The whole country is praying for him. Everyone is trying to ensure the best treatment for Osman Hadi. If necessary, considering his physical condition, the government will arrange treatment abroad wherever required,” he said.
Osman Hadi’s sister said that he had loved the country deeply since childhood and had always possessed a revolutionary spirit.
“He loved rebel poetry and used to recite it often. He has a 10-month-old child. Hadi is our backbone. He still has a lot of work to do and must stay alive. If the July revolutionaries are not protected, the independence and sovereignty of the country will be at risk,” she said.
Inquilab Manch leader Abdullah Al Jaber demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the attack on Osman Hadi.
“After August 5, many people went home, but Osman Hadi continued working day and night for the July Revolution. We have heard that the shooter was arrested in another case and later got bail. The process of granting that bail must be investigated,” he said.
Another leader, Fatima Tasnim Juma, urged the government to ensure the overall security of all July Movement activists.
Responding to these concerns, the Chief Advisor said that all individuals involved in such brutal attacks would be identified and brought to justice.
“Law enforcement agencies are actively working to arrest the criminals as soon as possible. A full investigation has already been ordered to determine the root causes of this incident,” he said.
Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Environment, Forest and Climate Advisor Rizwana Hasan, Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan, and National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman were also present at the meeting.
