Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N) — Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has directed authorities to immediately identify and bring to justice the attackers who shot Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and Dhaka-8 MP candidate Sharif Osman Hadi on Friday. He also ordered all necessary measures to ensure Hadi receives the best possible medical treatment.

The directives came through an official press statement issued on Friday afternoon.

According to the statement, the Chief Advisor expressed deep concern and sorrow, calling the attack “completely unacceptable in an election environment” and a “tragic incident for the country’s peaceful political landscape.”

Dr. Yunus instructed the Ministry of Health to closely monitor Hadi’s medical care and ensure that every required facility is provided without delay.

He also issued strict orders to law enforcement agencies to carry out a swift and comprehensive investigation, including:

  • Collecting evidence from the crime scene

  • Recording statements from eyewitnesses

  • Reviewing CCTV footage

  • Uncovering any organized plan or network behind the attack

The Chief Advisor emphasized that no form of violence aimed at disrupting the election will be tolerated. “Ensuring the safety of citizens and the free movement of candidates is our responsibility. Whoever is guilty will be brought to justice,” he stated.

Dr. Yunus urged all political parties, activists and citizens to maintain peace, restraint and cooperation to ensure that the upcoming national elections are held in a peaceful, participatory and secure environment.
