Dhaka, Dec 04 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has instructed police officers to perform their duties impartially and professionally in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, calling the vote a historic opportunity to shape a new Bangladesh.

Dr. Yunus gave the directive during a meeting on Thursday morning with senior police officials, including superintendents from all 64 districts, at the Chief Advisor’s office.

He emphasized the need for mental preparation to face the electoral challenge, saying, “Do not sit like cowards; work to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs.” He called on the police to carry out their responsibilities with caution, fairness, and professionalism.

Referring to the elections and the upcoming referendum as a historic opportunity, Dr. Yunus said, “The elections are a chance to create a building code for society. This referendum is not just about a five-year term; it is far more important.”

He added that the interim government aims to establish a framework for elections that will guide the country’s democratic process for the next century.
