Dhaka, Dec 03 (V7N) — Renowned specialist physician Dr. Richard Billy has arrived in Dhaka from the United Kingdom to provide medical support for BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. He reached Evercare Hospital at around 10:30 am on Wednesday, where the BNP chief is currently undergoing treatment.

Along with the UK expert team, another group of specialist doctors from China is also scheduled to arrive today to assess her condition.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain urged everyone to remain patient regarding her treatment updates. He said the medical board will make the final decision on whether Khaleda Zia needs to be taken abroad for advanced care.

BNP sources have indicated that Tarique Rahman may return to the country soon if her physical condition does not improve. Meanwhile, SSF members remain deployed at Evercare Hospital to ensure the security of the BNP Chairperson.
