Dhaka, Dec 01(V7N)- Legal advisor Asif Nazrul has said that he is not aware of any legal obstacles preventing BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman from returning to Bangladesh. He also assured that if any such barriers exist, “maximum cooperation” will be provided, especially concerning security arrangements.
He made these remarks at the Secretariat on Monday (December 1) afternoon.
Addressing questions about why Tarique Rahman has not returned yet, Asif Nazrul said that such discussions often feel inappropriate.
According to him, “Many people comment and question why he is not coming. It seems very unpleasant to raise such questions. This is a mother–son relationship. Whether Khaleda Zia has any instructions, or whether Tarique Rahman has personal considerations—I do not think it is interesting or appropriate for anyone to judge.”
He emphasized that people must understand the sensitivity of the situation.
The AUN advisor further said, “He knows best when to come and what steps to take. I believe he has the ability to choose the right time. I am confident that he (Tarique Rahman) will return when the time is right.”
