Dhaka, Nov 24 (V7N)- Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has said that reforms do not only refer to changes in the constitution; rather, significant reforms have already been implemented across various sectors. He made the remarks on Monday morning (November 24) at the inauguration of the e-Family Court at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court.

Responding to criticism regarding recent reform activities, Dr. Asif Nazrul said, “It is realistic to carry out reforms. But we must also assess whether further reforms could weaken the state structure.”

Highlighting the progress made so far, he noted that 21 reforms have been implemented in the Ministry of Law alone. According to him, the reforms within the judiciary are expected to reduce the number of pending cases by 50 percent within the next five years.

The inauguration program was attended by Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Postal, Telecommunication and Information Technology Faiz Ahmed Tayyab.

As part of a pilot project, the e-Family Court has been launched in both Dhaka and Chittagong courts. Through this digital system, victims will be able to file cases online and complete the entire judicial process virtually.
