Dhaka, Nov 19 (V7N) — Expatriate Welfare Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said that Bangladesh has strongly objected to several conditions recently imposed by Malaysia for the recruitment of workers. The government has also requested an extension of the deadline for fulfilling these requirements.
Dr. Nazrul made the remarks at the inauguration of the Overseas Employment Platform at a hotel in Dhaka on Wednesday.
He added that the Malaysian authorities have assured Bangladesh that they will consider the concerns. Diplomatic communication will continue until the conditions are relaxed and the labor market is opened to all recruiting agencies.
A letter has already been sent seeking the easing of restrictions related to the closure of syndicates in the country’s labor market, he said.
