Dhaka, Nov 12 (V7N) — The Procurement Advisory Committee discussed the purchase of 40,000 body cameras to enhance security at polling stations. Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, who presided over the meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, said a decision will be taken soon.
Dr. Ahmed added that the cameras could be procured through UNDP or other channels. He also addressed concerns regarding the pay commission, calling it a complex issue that will be managed within a government framework.
Additionally, the Finance Advisor noted that many old vehicles stuck at the port will be scrapped and sold to clear the backlog.
