Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) — Religious Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain has asserted that he was not involved in any corruption during his tenure in the interim government. He also stated that 8 crore taka has been returned to Hajj pilgrims.
He made the remarks at the annual function of the daily Nayadiganta held at Shilpakala Academy on Saturday (October 25). Khalid Hossain emphasized that he would not accept any future ministerial position, describing his current role as his final responsibility, and noted that advisors will return to their regular duties after the elections.
The religious advisor further stressed that he serves as a religious advisor to all communities, overseeing government allocations for different faiths. “I go to Baitul Mukarram to worship and to Dhakeshwari Temple to perform state duties,” he said, condemning attempts by some political parties to undermine communal harmony.
Earlier, at a press conference on July 13, he stated that 82.89 million taka would be refunded to 4,978 pilgrims who performed Hajj through the government in 2025.
