Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) — Experts from England, Australia, China, and Turkey have been invited to inspect the cause of the fire and assess security measures at the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Saturday (October 25).

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after inspecting the cargo complex and the e-gate damaged in the fire. Lt. Gen. Chowdhury explained that fire units inside the airport reached the scene within 30 seconds, while external units arrived within 20 minutes. He noted that flammable chemicals and materials contributed to the fire spreading, which delayed containment.

The advisor added that efforts are underway to reopen the e-gate promptly, ensuring that expatriates can complete all airport procedures smoothly without inconvenience.
