Dhaka, Oct 24 (V7N) — Bangladesh has strongly condemned Israel’s recent approval of a bill by the Knesset to annex the West Bank of Palestine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Friday denouncing Tel Aviv’s actions.

The statement described Israel’s attempts to impose “Israeli sovereignty” on the occupied West Bank as a violation of international law, including the UN Charter and Security Council Resolution 2334. Bangladesh emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over any part of Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and welcomed the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which reaffirmed Israel’s obligations under international humanitarian law.

Bangladesh reiterated its support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination, and called for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
