Dhaka, Oct 24 (V7N) — Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has canceled his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia, where he was scheduled to attend the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Nine Conference in Riyadh at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The event is set to take place from October 27 to 30.
According to official sources, the Bangladesh delegation will now be led by the Chief Advisor’s Special Envoy for International Affairs, Dr. Lutfe Siddiqui.
Both the Chief Advisor’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the cancellation, citing the current domestic political situation as the reason.
Officials said that Dr. Yunus decided to remain in the country to focus on the implementation of the July Charter and preparations for the upcoming national elections.
