Dhaka, Oct 18 (V7N) — Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan has announced that all government institutions across Bangladesh will transition to renewable energy within the next two to three years.
She made the statement while speaking at a discussion marking Climate Week, organized by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at the BRAC Center in Dhaka on Saturday (October 18) morning.
Rizwana Hasan emphasized the need to adopt adaptation strategies and prioritize environmental considerations to effectively address the risks posed by climate change.
During the seminar, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from home and abroad shared their insights on tackling the ongoing climate crisis. Discussions also focused on enhancing Bangladesh’s preparedness and capacity, boosting budget allocations, and ensuring financial accountability from developed nations responsible for global emissions.
