Dhaka, Oct 11 (V7N) – Legal Advisor to the Interim Government Asif Nazrul has said that while no government advisor needs a “safe exit,” the nation urgently requires a safe exit from irregularities, corruption, and human rights violations.
He made the remarks while speaking at a discussion on the National Human Rights Commission Ordinance held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (October 11).
Advisor Nazrul said, “This government has made significant progress in reforming state institutions; the next government will continue the remaining tasks.”
He further observed that the President has never been able to appoint the Chief Justice independently, as such appointments were made under the influence of the Prime Minister. Expressing hope for judicial independence, he said, “The people of this country should never again fall victim to injustice and inequality.”
Meanwhile, Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan emphasized the need to restore collapsed state institutions to ensure that incidents of enforced disappearances, murders, and torture do not recur in the future.
