Dhaka, Oct 08 (V7N) – The Foreign Ministry is not aware of why several ambassadors visited the residence of former Awami League minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, said Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain.

Speaking to reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday afternoon (October 8), the advisor stated, “Ambassadors can visit anyone’s house. The ministry does not have prior knowledge of why they went there.”

Regarding recent remarks made by an Indian official, Touhid Hossain said, “If there is an inclusive election in Bangladesh, India will work with whoever comes to power. However, such a statement from the Indian Foreign Secretary is not acceptable—it is an internal matter of Bangladesh.”

Commenting on the removal of the President’s portrait, he added, “There is no law that mandates taking down the President’s picture. However, the picture has been removed, and his letter has been received. I do not wish to comment further on the issue. No decision has yet been taken regarding re-hanging the portrait.”
