Dhaka, Oct 02 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus returned to Dhaka this morning after a nine-day visit to the United States, where he attended the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:00 am on an Emirates Airlines flight.

Earlier, Dr. Yunus departed New York at 9:10 am Bangladesh time on Wednesday. Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the United States, Tarek Md. Ariful Islam, bid him farewell at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Senior leaders from the country’s major political parties accompanied the Chief Advisor on the visit.

During his stay, Dr. Yunus addressed a high-level side event at the UN headquarters titled “Social Business, Youth, and Technology.” He also spoke at the UN General Assembly session and held meetings with presidents and prime ministers of 11 countries, as well as with leaders of international organizations.
