Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – Religious Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain has stressed the importance of maintaining Quran and Hadith-based education in madrasas while embracing modern learning. He also assured that free, fair, and inclusive elections will be held in February, with voting conducted during the day.
Dr. Khalid Hossain made these remarks at a program celebrating the 246th founding anniversary of the Government Madrasa-e-Alia in Bakshibazar, Dhaka.
He observed that madrasa education has drifted from its foundational teachings in the name of ultra-modern education and warned that it should not lose its focus on Quran, Hadith, and Fiqh. Highlighting the historical contributions of the Aliya madrasa system, he said the institutions have trained many distinguished individuals and played a key role in shaping society and the state.
The advisor called for balancing modern education with traditional madrasa teachings, emphasizing the importance of learning English, Arabic, and Bengali. He also cautioned against mischief in the name of student politics within educational institutions.
Dr. Khalid Hossain concluded with a call for unity among all believers, saying, “Our Allah is one, our Quran is one, our Qibla is one. This unity will bring us to one platform.”
